Terms
Last updated
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using NogLog, on the web and in the apps. By creating an account or posting on NogLog, you agree to them. They are written in plain English, but they are still the rules.
NogLog is run by Parlette Studios, the personal brand of the independent developer who built it, based in Maryland, USA. Parlette Studios is not a company; when these pages say “we” or “us”, they mean that developer.
Using NogLog
- NogLog is free. You need to be at least 13 (16 in the EU and UK) to create an account.
- One person per account. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Use an email address you can read: it is how we reach you about your account.
Content rules
NogLog works because the ratings are honest. Everything you post (logs, notes, photos, recipes, batches, nogs and profile details) has to follow these rules:
- Be honest. Log nogs you actually tried. No fake reviews, no paid reviews, no extra accounts to push a rating up or down, and if you make or sell a nog, say so before you rate it.
- No spam. No ads, no link dropping and no posting the same thing over and over.
- No abuse. No harassment, hate, threats or sexual content, and don't post anyone's personal information.
- Only post what you have the right to share. Use your own photos and words, or ones you have permission to use, and credit a recipe that came from someone else.
- Nothing illegal.
Alcohol is welcome. Boozy nogs, spiked recipes and the bars that serve them are part of eggnog culture. Follow the drinking-age laws where you live, and don't encourage underage or dangerous drinking.
Recipes and nog details, including alcohol content and allergens such as eggs and dairy, come from the community and are not tested by us. Check labels, and handle raw eggs safely.
Your content
You own what you post. To run NogLog, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, resize, display and distribute it as part of NogLog: on the site, in the apps, in share images and links, and in search results.
The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups until they expire (up to 90 days), and for nogs you add to the catalog. A catalog nog's name, details and photos stay as shared knowledge that others can log, correct and build on.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them without owing you anything.
Reporting content
If something breaks these rules or a nog's details are wrong, use Report on the nog, log, recipe, batch or profile.
You can also write to support@noglog.app.
What we can do
We review reports and submitted nogs. When content or an account breaks these rules, we can hide or remove the content, limit what the account can do, or delete the account, sometimes without warning. We usually email you when we act on something you posted.
We also look after the catalog: we approve, reject, edit and merge submitted nogs so each nog appears once and its details are right.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time, and it happens immediately. Export your data first if you want to keep a copy; the privacy policy explains what is deleted and what stays.
We may change or stop NogLog. If we shut it down, we will give notice on the site and time to export your data.
What we collect and how deletion works: Privacy policy
Free, with value-for-value
NogLog has no paid plans. Giving back through the support page is entirely voluntary; a gift doesn't buy features, special treatment or a different outcome in moderation.
No guarantees
NogLog is provided as it is and as available. Ratings and notes are other people's opinions. We don't promise that nog details, prices, availability, alcohol content or allergen information are accurate, or that NogLog will always be up or free of mistakes.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits from using NogLog, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to $50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
Law and disputes
If something goes wrong, email us first; most problems are quicker to fix that way. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in Maryland. If you live in the EU or UK, you also keep the protections of your local consumer law and can use your local courts.
App stores
If you get NogLog from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their terms apply to the download too. Apple and Google are not responsible for NogLog or its support; we are.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes too and the change is listed here. If a change matters, we will say so on the site before it takes effect. Using NogLog after that means you accept the new terms.
