Getting started
NogLog is the place to find, log, rate and share eggnog. This is the short tour. Browsing needs no account at all, so you can wander the catalog first and decide later.
Make an account
Pick a username, an email and a password. We email you a link to verify your address, and it works for 24 hours. Until you click it you can look around, but logging and adding nogs wait for the click. That's how we keep the catalog free of bots.
Tip
Didn't get the email? Check your spam folder, then ask for another one from the banner at the top of the page.
Log your first nog
- Find the nog.
Start typing its name. Recent logs and what's popular this season show up first.
- Tap the stars.
Half stars count. That one tap is a complete log.
- Say more, if you feel like it.
Notes, a photo, up to five flavor tags and the date are all optional. A log with only stars is a good log.
- Save.
Done. It lands in your journal, and in your season.
Logged the same nog twice? Both logs stay in your history. See how ratings work for how repeat logs count toward the community number.
Add a nog that's missing
Can't find the one you're holding? Search for it, then choose to add it as a new nog. Give it a name, the producer, a category and a photo if you have one.
New nogs wait for a quick look from a person before everyone can see them. While it waits, only you can see it, marked as pending, and you can keep logging it. We email you when it goes live, or tell you why it didn't, and you can fix it and send it again. If it turns out to be a duplicate, log it on the existing nog instead.
Seasons
Eggnog has a season, and so does NogLog. A log dated from 1 September through 31 August belongs to that eggnog year, named for the year it starts in: logs from September 2026 to August 2027 are Season 2026.
Seasons are why last year's carton and this year's carton can have different ratings. You can look at one season or all time. Nothing is locked outside the season; you can log in July if you really want to.
