FAQ

What counts as a nog?

A nog is one specific eggnog you can drink: a carton from the shelf, a dairy's seasonal batch, a bar's house recipe. Eggnog's close relatives are welcome too, such as coquito, rompope, advocaat and boozy nog. If it's something else entirely, it belongs somewhere else.

Variants get their own entry. The light version and the regular version of the same carton are different nogs, because they taste different.

Why can't I see the average rating?

Because one or two opinions aren't an average, they're just opinions. A nog's rating stays hidden behind "Not enough ratings yet" until at least three different people have rated it. Their logs and notes are still there to read.

We'd rather show you an honest blank than a confident number built on one person's mood. More on this in how ratings work.

I added a nog. Why is it "pending"?

New nogs get a quick human look before they appear for everyone, to catch duplicates, typos and spam. Until then only you can see it, and you can log it as usual. You'll get an email when it's live, or a note on what to fix if it isn't.

You can have a handful of nogs waiting at once. If you hit the limit, give the review queue a day to catch up.

Why are there no ads?

NogLog is free, has no ads and does not track you. It runs on value-for-value: if it's worth something to you, give something back. That can be time (log nogs, add the ones we're missing, fix a detail), talent (photos, recipes, words, code) or treasure. No guilt, no pop-ups. The details are on the support page.

Something is wrong on a nog page. How do I fix it?

Use "Suggest a correction" on the nog and tell us what's off, for example "the ABV is on the label, and it isn't what's listed". A person reads every correction. Producers can do the same; see for producers.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. Settings has a data export that gives you your profile, logs, batches, recipes and favorites as a file. Details are in privacy and data.

How do I delete my account?

Go to /account/delete, or Settings and then the danger zone. You'll confirm with your password, or with a link we email you. Deletion is immediate and it can't be undone. What goes and what stays is spelled out in privacy and data.

Is there a community?

Not a chat space yet. NogLog itself has no comments or messaging; your logs and ratings are how you talk nog with everyone else. For bug reports, ideas and arguments about nutmeg, write to support@noglog.app.

Still stuck?

Write to support@noglog.app and a person will answer.
